[edit] Montvale Triathlon Club

Montvale is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 7,034.

Montvale was incorporated as a borough on August 31, 1894, from portions of both Orvil Township and Washington Township, at the height of the Boroughitis craze then sweeping through Bergen County that led to the creation of over two dozen new municipalities in the county in that one year alone.

Triathlon is an athletic event consisting of swimming, cycling and running over various distances. In most modern triathlons, these events are placed back-to-back in immediate sequence and a competitor's official time includes the time required to "transition" between the individual legs of the race, including any time necessary for changing clothes and shoes. As a result, proficiency in swimming, cycling, and running alone is not sufficient to guarantee a triathlete a competitive time: trained triathletes have learned to race each stage in a way that preserves their energy and endurance for subsequent stages. A club is generally an association of people united by a common interest or goal, as opposed to any natural ties of kinship. Such clubs occur in all ancient states of which we have detailed knowledge. Once people started living together in larger groups, there was need for men with a common interest to be able to associate despite having no ties of kinship.

This is the home page for the Montvale Triathlon Club, a club of local triathletes from Montvale, NJ and the surrounding Pascack Valley area.

Our motivation is to create a meeting place for training discussions, race results, and anything triathlon related. If you would like to join, please contact me here.
